There’s something more than just an all new Molly Brown

English translation below.

Something happened yesterday at Disneyland Paris.

After a big and much needed rehabilitation, the legendary Molly Brown finally came back on the rivers of the Far West. It’s a good news for the guests since the ride’s capacity was cut in half during a year of intensive work and facelift. Other good news is that Walt Disney Imagineering was involved and changed the old turquoise color scheme to an all brown and gold palette. It’s good news because a lot of improvement jobs don’t rise the bar at Disneyland Paris. About the ride itself, Molly Brown’s voice was also recorded in english.

But I think the real good news is the way these works have been publicized. Look at the average guest.  He won’t miss the smallest detail in bad state but if everything else is perfect and clean, it’s just normal.

So what would you do to value these expensive and needed rehabilitations ?

I believe DLP came up with a very clever idea by organizing a real ceremony to celebrate the return of the Molly Brown boat. DLP’s ambassadors first asked their fans to join the happening via Facebook, but more interesting, several Disney oriented webmasters were invited.

They had the opportunity to meet some of Disneyland’s rehabilitation management people. Which is a totally new way to advertise for DLP.

They were told the whole schedule for upcoming rehabs, and to say the least, there are a lot to come. Have a look at the complete list, some of it seem very cool like this cookie box shaped food cart for Toy Story Playland.

Organizing this kind of mini events dedicated to fan sites is probably not so expensive and it allows DLP to put in the spotlight some investments that fans really care of when it comes to quality and beauty.

Disneyland Paris is really making progress in this direction. And the fact that they hired biggest french Disney fansite administrator to workout the link between the resort and its fans is definitely related.

Good job Disneyland Paris!
